Most of us think of fall as the end of the season. The tomatoes are done, the leaves are dropping, and the garden gloves go back on the shelf. But if you ask anyone who works in a garden, they’ll tell you autumn is when the next year begins. Bulbs go into the ground now. Soil gets fed and covered. The work you do in October decides what blooms in spring.
The same is true for the community projects we care about. At Greening Projects, the next few months are full of the planting that makes 2027 possible, and we’d love you to be part of it.
A Night of Mexican Spirits & Wine Tasting
First up is a fundraiser for our neighbors at Ogden Avenue Gardens. After how much fun everyone had last year, they’re doing it again: premium tequila, smoky mezcal, and Mexican wines, poured for a good cause. Guests will sip their way through exclusive tastings, with small bites made to complement every pour.

Giving Tuesday: December 1
Once the tasting glasses are put away, Giving Tuesday follows on December 1, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s a day when neighbors around the world pause between the shopping rush and the holidays to support the causes they believe in. A gift made that day goes straight into the soil: tools, plants, workshops, and the volunteer energy that keeps our green spaces thriving.
Year-End Giving
Then comes the final stretch of the calendar. Year-end gifts help close out the year strong and give our teams the confidence to plan ahead. They are the compost under next year’s growth. A gift of any size helps, and every one of them matters.
From Seed to Spring
None of these moments stands alone. The evening at Baukunst, Giving Tuesday, and your year-end gift all feed into the same thing: a greener, more connected 2027. The work won’t be visible for a while, just as bulbs sit unseen all winter. But in the spring, you’ll see what you helped plant.
So while the days grow shorter, we’re not slowing down. We’re planting. Join us.
